The Terraces on Pennsylvania is a new affordable rental housing development designed for persons 62 and older. The development is located one block south of Swedish Medical Center, which is close to downtown Englewood. Shopping and public transportation, as well as the Malley Senior Center, are located with in a few blocks of the building. The five story elevator building contains 62 apartments and features panoramic views of the mountains. Covered parking and controlled access are located on the ground level of the building. A large community room, including a kitchen that can be used for group events, is located on the second floor. A fully equipped exercise facility and a large out door terrace are available for resident use. On the first floor there is a community board to post activities as well as view the ongoing resident community activities. There will also be resident gardens on the south side of the building. The Apartments The development includes 40 one bedroom and 22 two bedroom units, all with 9 foot ceilings. Four of the units are designed to be fully accessible for disabled persons. The large apartment kitchens and bathrooms feature maple cabinets with complimentary contemporary counter tops. Each unit is air conditioned, has large closets, and includes a washer and dryer. Many of the units have private balconies. There is a trash chute on each floor and recycling available in the garage.
